Eddy Current Suppression Ring – In Light Of Recent Events LP/ Suppression Records New Stuff
Info
Eddy Current Suppression Ring make an unexpected return with In Light of Recent Events, their sixth album and first new material in years. Staying true to their long-standing approach, the band continue to sidestep convention, moving at their own pace and on their own terms.
The album grew out of private weekly jam sessions throughout 2025, with hints of renewed activity surfacing through under-the-radar live appearances under aliases including Jimmy and the Ringtones and Top Hats. Record shop in-stores, country detours and a pair of quietly released YouTube singles — ‘Swimming Hole’ and ‘Hard To Be Moved’ — added further clues. Typical of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, the return arrived gradually, without fanfare, before finally taking shape as a new full-length release.
